VINCENT BLACK KNIGHT Description.
A rare Vincent BLACK KNIGHT and a rather special one indeed. This is a genuine 1 owner motorcycle from the date of registration way back in 1956. As you will see from the documented folders, there is a story being told of its life from day one to the present. Numerous logged receipts, handbooks, guides, Mots, manuals, parts books, what appear to be original keys, its all going on. Having read the history of Philip Vincent and his creative genius and the development of the D series motorcycles it is very touching to be in possession of one of only a few remaining of these models globally. We have deliberately kept this away from any restoration or valeting as we feel this machine is best served up as original as is possible. It retains a smell of heavy industry even to this day. For you enthusiasts and collectors this model will need no explaining but for the sake of the nostalgics amongst you this model was labelled the Bentley of the motorcycle world and Philip Vincents vision of it was that it would be the Grand Routier of touring bikes. That notwithstanding it was capable of speeds of over 120mph which was ground breaking for a production bike. There was only circa 100 of these bikes that were believed to have been completed as the factory had supply issues with the fibre glass wrapped fairing, this remains speculative, but certainly no more than 200. However the factory closed in 1955 an the Black Knight and Black Prince failed and the factory lost money on every single bike produced. The cost of these models then was comparable to being half the cost of a new house. Looking at todays values it is ironic that we can still draw very similar comparisons to those of nearly 70 years ago. This motorcycle is available to view and buy online with National and International delivery available www.mcobikes.com. Please note that historical classic vehicles are sold as an investment opportunity and are not supplied under the same terms and conditions as modern day running motorcycle. You can watch a walk around video of this bike at www.mcobikes.com. Nationwide delivery, 15 month extended warranty with roadside assistance and finance available.
